At our last PTSA Member's Meeting the membership voted to fund a supplemental playground installation. After several meetings with our playground company and the school district, Principal Wilson and myself (Lorraine Thurston) came up with what we feel is a solid proposal for a playground addition. We came to our design decisions based on input from staff and experts, but we'd love to hear from parents and students too. We are going to put our proposal before our Associated Student Body for input and we'd like to invite you to view our Powerpoint presentation if you'd like to see what we have in mind.

Our biggest issues with the playground design came down to the cost of the rubber safety matting. While this is a safety necessity, it puts a damper in what we can get for our dollar. In the end, we feel that our proposal meets the needs of the most age groups as well as occupies the most students, while at the same time being to most cost-effective.

After we consider input and make any necessary changes, we ideally would see the playground installed in early summer in order to be ready for September. We hope to be able to go to our current student body before the end of the year to allow them to vote on the colour scheme of the new equipment.
