Chess 4 Life - IN SESSION

Thursdays - 3:00-4:00pm - January 5 - March 15

Students of all skill levels welcome to join this fun chess class and club--first time players through experienced tournament competitors--will learn the rules, tactics, and strategies for the game of chess.  More importantly, coaches will educate students on important life skills developed through chess, planning, patience, and good sportsmanship.

Class times: 3:00pm to 4:00pm
Location: CVES Library
Class minimum/maximum:  12/depends on space

Other Info:
All chess sets, clocks, score sheets, and other materials provided by Chess4Life.  Students only need to bring a good attitude and a desire to learn!

Who should attend:
Any student interested in learning or increasing their knowledge of chess.

Benefits:
Chess study has shown to increase math skills, concentration, memory, and self-confidence.

Instructors:
Chess4Life instructors follow the coaching methods that were developed by National Chess Master Elliott Neff over the past 16 years in training multiple students and teams to both state and national titles.

Class materials:
Classes are tailored to the level of competency exhibited among the students using Elliott's curriculum.  Classes typically include basic principles and strategy of how to open a chess game, how to conduct the middle game, and how to win (or avoid losing) in the end game.
