CVES PTSA After School Enrichment Program

WELCOME BACK!! 

The CVES PTSA Enrichment Program creates opportunities for families to give their children more experiences in the arts and sciences. The classes themselves are usually held right after school and are run by independent contractors who specialize in their field and in working with children.

Contact information is also available for many of the teachers of our after-school programs. Please contact them with any questions about their classes.

*Note: Home school children & students from other schools are welcome to enroll provided they join the CVES PTSA. Membership forms are available online or at the CVES Kiosk near the school's administrative office.

Basketball

Thursdays - 3:00-4:00pm - October 7-November 4

Class will cover the fundamental skills of basketball including ball handling, passing and shooting, and 5 vs. 5 and small sided games. Come to learn, improve your skills and have fun!

This class is open to 1st and 2nd grade only.  This allows the instructor to focus in on the abilities of a younger age group.

Compass Outdoor Adventures Presents the Adventure Club!

Adventure Club is open to 3rd to 5th grade boys and girls.  Kids will learn basic outdoor skills as well as how to be effective communicators and leaders.  Students will do the majority of their work on campus, but we will be going off campus to Meadowbrook Farm and onto the Snoqualmie Valley Trail

Drawing Class - CLASS FULL - Wait List Available

Wednesdays - 3:00-4:30pm - September 22-October 27

A Drawing Class will be offered this fall for six sessions through The Drawing Board Art Instruction.  Students will get practice with line drawing, shading, and color blending techniques while woring on fun drawing projects (shells, masks, pumpkins, etc.).  We will be using pencil, charcoal, oil pastel, ink, and crayon.

Snoqualmie Seedlings Strings Program

The goal of the Snoqualmie Seedlings Strings Program is to teach beginning instrumentalists the basics of playing the Violin or Viola.  Students of any age are welcome to join the orchestra!  This is a beginning course that teaches the fundamentals of playing the violin, viola, cello, or bass.

Chess 4 Life

Students of all skill levels welcome to join this fun chess class and club--first time players through experienced tournament competitors--will learn the rules, tactics, and strategies for the game of chess.  More importantly, coaches will educate students on important life skills developed through chess, planning, patience, and good sportsmanship.

DMW Martial Arts

DMW Martial Arts will be conducting a 6 week life skill, character building martial arts program at Cascade View Elementary School.  This program includes training on 8 fundamental skills that will teach your child to learn how to protect themselves both physically and mentally.  Martial Arts training teaches children focus for better grades, confidence to make new friends, respect to listen to adults, self-discipline to stand up to peer pressure and much more.

Students will learn the fundamentals of guitar playing--including chords, notes, and how to read guitar tablature. We will play songs in different guitar styles-- including rock, pop, folk, country and blues. A limited number of guitars are available, but it would be best if students could bring their own guitars, if possible.

Get ready to touch, see, hear, smell, and taste what science is really all about!  Students will engage in fun, interactive and educational hands-on activities that instill a clearer understanding of science and how it affects the world around them.  On the way to becoming "Mad Scientists," almost every week participants make and take home a different science project.
