How does the spelling bee work?

Step 1 – Register for your student to participate in a spelling test at school in January. REGISTER HERE

Step 2 – Study the word lists sent via email to the guardian’s email address provided at registration.

Step 3 – Students are given a spelling test of 15-25 words, some are from the study list and some are not.

Step 4 – The top tests from each grade will compete at the in-person spelling bee.

Feb 11 for kinder-2nd grades      Feb 12 for 3rd-5th grades

Step 5 – The 3rd-5th grade winner advances to the regional spelling bee, held in Seattle on Mar 29 at 1pm.
